Why do I have to shave before laser hair removal?

Shaving before laser hair removal is typically recommended because it allows the laser energy to more effectively target the hair follicles. When the hair is shaved close to the skin, the laser energy can penetrate the skin more easily, which makes it more effective at damaging the hair follicles and preventing future hair growth.

Additionally, shaving before laser hair removal also helps to reduce the risk of pain and discomfort during the procedure, as well as reduce the chance of burns or other side effects. Shaving also makes it easier for the technician to aim the laser at the hair follicles, and to see which areas have been treated, and which areas need further treatment.

It's important to note that shaving should be done within 24-48 hours prior the treatment and not to wax, pluck or thread the hair in the area to be treated, as it can affect the results of the treatment.
